Rajinder Rai

Biography

Rajinder is a practising solicitor, having been qualified for over 23 years, and is also an accredited Civil and Commercial Mediator. Over that period she has acted for clients in a mixture of civil and commercial disputes, including contract and construction disputes, cohabitee disputes, property and boundary disputes, insolvency disputes, professional negligence claims, personal injury and clinical negligence claims, and landlord and tenant matters.

Her more current caseload has included a bias towards contentious probate matters, such as challenges to wills, trust disputes and Court of Protection cases.

Rajinder is known for providing candid and honest advice. She is a good listener and empathetic to her clients' needs, able to relate to all walks of life, and places client service, cost control and proportionality at the top of her priorities.

Rajinder adopts a pragmatic, logical approach to matters, encouraging parties to mediate rather than litigate cases to trial. She also sits on the Executive Committee of the Civil Litigation Section of the Law Society (London), which runs interactive workshops and events and prepares articles and other material to keep practitioners up to date with changes in law and procedure.
